Data Visualization in Life Sciences

Business & Decision Life Sciences is promoting "DataViz" solutions, characterized by speed of deployment, simplicity (business users are able to produce Dashboard without IT support) and quality of the information delivered to the end-users. The DataViz solutions are based on new technologies ("in-memory" engine), like Tableau, QlikSense, Spotfire or SAS Visual Analytics. The strengths of the tool rely on the short learning curve for the business users, quickly able to produce their own dashboard through intuitive and advanced visualizations objects

Our Data Visualization & Self-Service Solutions

Our Data Visualization  & Self-Service solutions replicate techniques from agile software development. Project Management approach such as "Agile"
was initiated on operational applications to overcome the drawbacks of traditional development methodologies called "Waterfall". BDLS is using a
similar approach for BI applications. In "Waterfall" development approach, analysts are in contact with users in the first project phases, then a build
phase is launched with limited collaboration/contact with the business users, typically for several months.
At the end of the development phase, the product is exposed to users for validation. In general, the product does not meet the expectations of
business users, due to a misinterpretation of the specifications, specifications modifications during the project or an inability of the users
to express their needs. In contrast, the agile approach is based on very short iterations (3-5 weeks), respecting the traditional project cycle
(Specifications - Design - Development - Validation - Rollout). Due to the short project cycles, users are largely involved in the production of the
solution, ensuring continuous feedback and the delivery of a product in line with the business needs. The approach also supports the solution
definition, by providing quickly Dashboards (prototype), with key information.
