Sponsored by Business & Decision, SAS, BIOP and DHBW, the Life Sciences Forum Basel organization brings together local Life Sciences companies, academic groups and suppliers working in the Basel Region.

This year's free-to-attend event, held at the BioZentrum (Basel University), was attended by almost 90 delegates with an agenda spread across three tracks and covered topics in a number of Life Sciences domains including research and development, clinical trials & manufacturing. Papers looked at best business practices and the use of leading-edge information technology.

A number of speakers from Business & Decision were selected to present papers covering Lean IS Compliance, Biomarker Discovery using Microarrays, Business Intelligence Competency Centers and the use of Compliant Agile development methods.

The highlight of the event was a keynote speech delivered by M. Jean-Paul Clozel, CEO of Actelion, outlining how being centered in Basel had been such an important part of the success of the fastest growing biotechnology company in the world.
